Customer Service

Buy, Trade and Consignment Items

Customers who are looking to sell their used items to Ellwood Epps Sporting Goods have three options:
  1. Buy - Epps will purchase used items for 60% [2] of their Used Retail Value [1].
  2. Trade - If a customer is looking to trade a used item, Epps offers 70% [2] of the Used Retail Value [1] in the form of an in-store credit applied to the customer's account. Any portion of this credit may be used at any time toward the purchase of any item at Ellwood Epps, or applied to any orders made in the future.
  3. Consignment - If a customer is consigning a used item, Epps offers 80% [2] of the Used Retail Value [1] if that value is $999.99 or less; or 85% [2] if that value is $1,000.00 or more. All consignments are paid in the form of a cheque mailed to the consignor a minimum of 30 days after that sale has been completed.

Notes:
  1. Used Retail Value - An item's Used Retail Value (URV) is based on its overall condition as well as past selling prices for identical or similar firearms.
  2. Minimum Return - Ellwood Epps Sporting Goods requires a minimum return of $75.00 on all items traded through the stores. Therefore the percentages listed above will be adjusted to meet this minimum dollar amount.

Shipping & Delivery - Exporting to USA

Information required for exporting a firearm to the United States:
  1. Locate a Federal Firearms License (FFL) dealer willing and licensed to import a rifle/shotgun. If needed, we can assist with locating a FFL dealer.
  2. Complete ATF Form 6 and 6a via the FFL dealer.
Note: Most dealers will charge $80 to $140 for this service.
  3. Wait for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) to approve the permit. This can take anywhere from 12 to 30 weeks.
  4. Send the approved permit to us via mail or courier. We will then forward it to the Canadian government with our application for export and de-registration. This typically takes 2-6 weeks. There is a $80.00 (CAD) charge for this service, plus an additional $45.00 (CAD) for Prohibited firearms.
  5. Once these steps have been completed, the firearm can be shipped to the US. Unfortunately, US law requires the firearm be shipped by Air. The approximate cost for a handgun is $600.00 and $850.00 for a rifle or shotgun.
Note: The ATF dealer must be willing to pick up the parcel at their nearest International airport.

Due to the time frame involved, we must insist on full payment for the firearm before the export process will commence.

  • Duty: 10% of the firearm's value if it is not manufactured in the USA
Some important notes:
  • You must make sure the firearm can be legally exported from the US.
  • You must make sure the firearm can be legally imported into Canada.
